Sibling Preference
Siblings of
enrolled students who submit an application by the application deadline will
receive preference for admission. In the event we have more sibling
applicants than open spaces at any grade level, we will conduct a lottery
among all of the sibling applicants who met the deadline to determine
admission for that grade. Siblings who are not chosen in the lottery will be
placed on a waiting list and notified promptly if a space becomes available.

Transportation:
The following is a brief explanation of the
transportation process. All schools (public, private, charter) work with the
bus companies in the same manner. We present our bus riders names and
addresses to the bus companies by August 1. The bus companies then
establish bus routes (pick-up and drop-off locations and times), and they
notify parents via mail of this information. This usually occurs by
August 10. Up until the start of school, these can change slightly
with the addition/deletion of students. After August 1, we will
continue to send the bus company any changes to our bus rider rosters.
The deadline for changes is August 15. Any students who miss this deadline
will not be assigned a bus stop for at least two weeks. They will be
able to ride the bus, however, they will need to access a bus at a
previously established location until a bus stop is assigned.
In most cases, bus companies establish convenient stops. They have
each child's safety in mind when establishing routes. If there are
many students in a particular area, they select a location somewhere that is
convenient and safe for them all. If there are not many students in
your area, the location is usually very close to your home.
The challenge we have is that if we do not receive your transfer form your child is not considered enrolled at Parnassus by the Department of Education. We can only submit the names of enrolled students to the bus company.

PARNASSUS UNIFORM POLICY
Parnassus Preparatory School (Parnassus)
students are expected to dress in a way that aligns with our mission of
maintaining a learning environment that focuses on the development of each
student’s academic potential, personal character and leadership qualities.
The uniform policy and dress code underscores the School’s seriousness of
purpose by encouraging students to think of their attire as an aspect of
their work; helps to eliminate self-consciousness and social competition;
places the emphasis for school culture on scholarship; and fosters a sense
of identity with the School. It provides a means of focusing on the student
as a unique person while diminishing the importance of external factors such
as clothing. We ask not only for the student’s commitment to this concept
but for the parents as well.
