Salvete! Welcome!

Parnassus' Student in the News - Channel 12 News

"Standout Student is a second-grade scholar"

After three years of research, planning, implementation and execution, Parnassus Preparatory School, a classical education, tuition-free, college preparatory charter school opened its doors to over 350 students on Monday, August 22.  The success of the school is attributed to three founding parents who wanted more for their children and to as many other children as could be taken into the school facility. Laura Bottenfield, Greg Friess, and Heather Ross dedicated three years of their lives, with many sacrifices along the way, to make Parnassus a reality. We are happy to welcome you into the school. Have a wonderful school year!

The Greek place “Mount Parnassus” in literature typically refers to its distinction as the home of poetry, literature, music and learning. The name reflects the founders’ belief that Parnassus will provide a classical academic program that will produce students who are critical thinkers, coherent writers, confident speakers, thoughtful leaders and responsible members of their community.

Parnassus is  licensed as a K-12 school opening with grades K-6 .  After the first year, we'll add one grade per year.  The school is
in Maple Grove, but  will serve students from any community.

Parnassus Highlights

Mission
The mission of Parnassus Preparatory School is to provide students with a K-12 classical education grounded in the classical Trivium that demands their best in intellectual achievement and character development.

Vision
We envision a school where students will be excited to learn; parents will be recognized as the primary educators of their children; teachers, administration, parents, and students will collaborate to enhance learning in a caring environment fostering the development of a ’culture of learning.’

Philosophy
Parnassus’ philosophy is that all students benefit from the highest standards of academic integrity and from a rigorous, content-rich, educational program that develops their intellectual capacity, personal character, and leadership skills. The school provides an environment that fosters academic excellence through the habit of discipline and thoroughness, the willingness to work, and the perseverance to complete difficult tasks. Through a defined traditional, classical curriculum grounded in the classical Trivium students will be prepared to become active and responsible leaders and members of their community.
